Roofing Options

We Provide the Replacement and Installation of Asphalt, Metal, and Rubber Roofing. Not sure which option is right for you? Read below to discover the pros and cons of each. Still unsure of what's best for your needs? Give us a call for a Free Estimate.

Asphalt Shingles

Pros:

  • Cost-effective: Among the cheapest roofing options.
  • Easy installation & repair: Widely available and simple to install or patch.
  • Aesthetic variety: Comes in many colors and styles, including 3-tab and architectural shingles.
  • Moderate lifespan: Typically lasts 15–30 years depending on quality.

Cons:

  • Shorter lifespan: Less durable than metal or rubber (especially in harsh climates).
  • Not environmentally friendly: Petroleum-based and hard to recycle.
  • Poor insulation: Offers limited energy efficiency unless upgraded.
  • Prone to damage: Susceptible to cracking, algae, and wind uplift.

Metal Roofing (Steel, Aluminum, Copper, etc.)

Pros:

  • Long lifespan: 40–70+ years depending on material and care.
  • Durable: Resistant to wind, hail, fire, and pests.
  • Energy-efficient: Reflects solar heat, reducing cooling costs.
  • Low maintenance: Minimal upkeep over time.
  • Recyclable: Environmentally friendly and often made from recycled materials.

Cons:

  • Higher upfront cost: More expensive than asphalt or rubber initially.
  • Noise: Can be loud in heavy rain or hail without proper insulation.
  • Denting risk: Softer metals (like aluminum) can dent from hail or falling branches.
  • Installation complexity: Requires experienced installers to avoid leaks or inefficiency.

Rubber Roofing (EPDM, TPO, etc.)

Pros:

  • Excellent for flat or low-slope roofs: Especially EPDM and TPO membranes.
  • Weather resistant: Handles UV, ozone, and thermal shock well.
  • Durable: Can last 30–50 years with proper installation.
  • Eco-friendly: Recyclable and often made from recycled materials.
  • Low maintenance: Few seams and resistant to leaks when installed correctly.

Cons:

  • Aesthetics: Limited color options and not visually appealing for sloped roofs.
  • Puncture risk: Can be damaged by sharp objects or improper foot traffic.
  • Professional installation required: DIY installations often fail over time.
  • Higher material cost than asphalt: Though still cheaper than metal in some cases.
